Re: [Marxism] Nader is to be Applauded for Departing the Green Party
No, Les, I don't have much illusion about Nader. But I do think that his
thinking is more anti-capitalist than the majority of people supporting the
Green Party. And on this list, more people have delusions about the
Green Party being a vehicle for anticapitalism sentiment than anything else.
At least Nader doesn't seem so crippled by the majority of the Green Party's
desperate faith in electorialism somehow solving the Big Problem. He sees
concentrated corporate power as the enemy, and not just the enemy being some
Bush out there. I think that is enough of a difference to vote very
conditionally for the guy as an independent, but not as a candidate of a
capitalist party like the Greens. I'd much rather do that than vote for a
Peter Camejo running as the Green Party candidate.
It's a mistake to try to build the Green Party structure up.

Tony has major illusions concerning Nader.
Nader is no anti-capitalist. He like his former
follower David Cobb simply want to reform the
corporate system and make it more accountible,
but they accept the basic system.
Nader has consistently backed so-called
progressive Democrats, even against greens as was
the case for Wellstone's seat.
