I'm not sure that I agree "that the Socialist Workers Party is
definitively breaking under the last decades of imperialist pressure is
a sign of the strength of our class enemy and not good news for our
side."

Short of direct repression--which isn't the case here--"imperialist
pressure" creates a right-ward drift by influencing the social or
political base of that movement or party. I don't think the SWP has
such a base to which its leadership is responding. (By analogy, it's
making Newtonian assumptions about particle physics.... the scale's not
right.)

I don't think that the SWP's shift necessarily reflects the strength of
our class enemy. It is more plausible to see it as part of a group
psychology aimed at finding distinctive positions. And the SWP's small
enough that the change could reflect a bit more attention by one or
another of the intelligence organizations infiltrating the group.
