[Marxism] Re Aussie nationalism
My point in that post

on the Green Left discussion list was not that defending the
PBS was wrong in general but that counterposing it as a more
working class issue than opposition to the war in Iraq, the
main issue taken up by the anti-Bash protests last month in
Australia was sectarian.

Thanks, that clears some things up. but also point out that at the time, many
australian newspapers also
raised that issue. Immediately after the protests for example the PBS issue was
raised
on the front cover of the Australian financial review.
Was it sectarian? Then why did the DSP in its refugee work raise the
reactionary call
for a refugee royal commission as a shibboleth to distinguish your refugee
work? Obviously
this was a case of sectarianism seeing as you did this just to be different to
the rest of the
movement.
