Re: (Spanish) The actual words by Toni Negri and his intervieweron Iraq

If I can make any sense of that heap of polished nonsense in these
two texts by Antonio Negri, the interview with Clarín
> http://old.clarin.com/suplementos/zona/2003/10/26/z-03215.htm
and the text pointed to by Louis Proyect,
> http://www.generation-online.org/t/negriwar.htm
then it is at least this:

A. Negri is against defending the sovereignty of oppressed nations
like Argentina, Iraq or Afghanistan.

A. Negri thinks that the US-invasions of Afghanistan or Iraq are
not a violation of the right to self-determination of those nations
-- a notion he rather dismisses as outmoded. In Afghanistan he sees
only the drive to root out Al-Qaeda, which is not a nation-state, so
Negri, and in Iraq he sees only the competition with the European
imperialism (and this failed, in Negri's view), while the
US-occupation regime does a futile job of "nation-building".

As to the difference which Negri makes between "Empire" and
"Imperialism", I just don't understand it.

It might be just a lot of hot air just to justify not to fight
against imperialism.

It is also astonishing that he puts Zionism, which provides the
ideology for an actual colonial adventure, and Islamic
fundamentalism, which gives a reactionary ideology to the resistance
against imperialism, on the same plane as "fundamentalisms" to be
rejected.
