I've always understood that Negri was framed with regard to the
accusations of being a member of the Red brigades. Some sources on
this would also be welcome.

Whatever one makes of the murky relationship between the BR and
Autonomia in 1977-78,
The connections between the theories of the Autonomisti and the Red
Brigades are well-known. But nothing in the article points conclusively
to Negri's personal involvement in the Moro kidnapping.
It would be just as plausible to maintain - as some right-wing
politicians in Germany have tried to suggest - that Joschka Fischer -
currently German foreign Minister but previously a well-known
street-fighting autonomist -, Otto Schily - former lawyer of many
leading member of the Red Army Faction and currently autocratic Interior
Minister - and Daniel Cohn-Bendit - currently a member of the European
Parliament representing the French Green party - were members of the RAF
because they came out of the same autonomist political milieu.
As far as I'm concerned the jury is still out on negri with regard to
membershi0p of the Red Brigades.
But I'm much more interested in the other allegation in Nestor's
message. I had the impression until now that Negri had opposed the Iraq
war even if Michael Hardt seemed to have a more equivocal line.
