Of course there is an abyss. That is what the state exists for. What
I meant is that, IMHO, Israelis of Jewish origin should not be
considered as "Jews" but as "Israelis" or "Israeli Jews", and _that_
is the distinct nationality that imperialism created in the Middle
East. I think that this is a slightly different case than in Northern
England. Between Israeli Jews and other residents in what is known as
the State of Israel there are more differences than religion such as
there is in N. Ireland.
