This is based on a sample of 392 people. The median age of the
sample is about 57! Thirty-two percent of them were over the age
of 64!>>>
That is obviously problematic, although what makes you think that
a more representative sample in terms of age would have brought
about a different result? For example, are younger Jewish
americans more likely to be in favour of Israel's disbandment, ie, be
anti zionist?
In a brief search I couldn't find anything about the sampling
procedure. How -would- you get a sample of "American Jews"?
>>>
Going by last names for example? This would obviously have its
problems (e.g., many Jews, including my Dad's family have
anglicized names), but is one way of locating Jewish persons.
<<<A 'correct' way would be to do a hell of a lot of random-digit
dialing, asking everyone what their ethnicity is, and and asking
your questions of those who respond that they were Jewish. The
firm of Greenberg, Quinlan and Rosner does do this for their
political polling. But I don't think it could possibly be efficient for
finding 'American Jews'. I -suspect- that they ended up with a non-
random sample, like, for example, readers of some Zionist
publication, or some kind of cluster sample thing using temples.
<<<<<
Find the proof, instead of constructing straw men. ANd while
you're at it, find a survey the proves what (I would suspect) you're
implying): that most Jews_don't_support Israel's right to existence.
The fact that the sample selection process isn't mentioned
anywhere is itself rather suspect.>>>
Perhaps. But, again, would it alter the findings?
<<<<I may e-mail them and ask them.>>>>
If you do, let me know what they say.
