It's a hard call. These things are not mutually exclusive. National and
local can support each other. Some people this time around again boarded
buses and went down to D.C. from Vermont, although not as many as before the
war started. The main effort was around a state-wide protest in the
capital, Montpelier, Vermont, which drew 700-800 people yesterday, maybe
more. This was also fewer than last winter when we peaked at a couple of
anti-war demonstrations in Montpelier and Burlington with 3 or 4 thousand in
attendance. Still I would say that we're on the rebound. Another winter of
discontent is coming up. I can feel it. A lot of anger.
