Robin Maisel replies:
Whether it is a duck or a new species is not truly important so much as
what it does. From where I sit, and I think that history may well
confirm this once we get our hands on the secret archives of the US
government, very few anti communist organizations are self-supporting
either financially or ideologically without direct (though often subtle)
input from the government of the United States or another imperialist
government. The exact organizational set up, be it MI-5, 6 or the
French equivalent is not so important. What is important is what
outfits like Reporters without Borders do, no matter who appears to be
paying the bills.
The way to answer their lies is to answer their lies, not to get
caught up in the quagmire of trying to figure out which members are the
dupers, the dupees, the paid agents or the volunteers. Without doubt,
if the CIA did not have a hand in creation of this particular outfit
from the start, they certainly have their ways to get their input into it.
