Talk about much ado about nothing... this has got to be it.  I don't
recall anybody asking Fred to "join in" on the attacks on Mahathir, thus
Fred's refusal is of personal interest only.

I don't know why anyone would feel compelled to "join in" on the
bourgeoisie's attacks in any circumstances.

I go for the short version: How about this? -- Mahathir's remark is
ignorant.  How about we just leave it at that?

Or, for those who feel compelled to go further:

How about comparing it to the equally ignorant remarks of  those who
claim that Jews controlled the  African slave trade?.

Just aint so, that's all, and ultimately serves the forces of reaction
