That seems to me to be a telling point. Don't you
think if the Bush Administration had not been so
preoccupied with Iraq and Afghanistan, that last
year's coup against Chavez in Venezuela would
have succeeded?

What recent events in Iraq seem to be highlighting,
are the limitations of US power in the world. Despite
the fact that the US possesses a military capacity,
greater than any that has ever existed in world history,
it is not without its limitations. The US is experiencing
far greater problems in subduing in Iraq than it
had ever anticipated. And as the US becomes increasingly
bogged down there, its ability to project force elsewhere
in the world seems to be proportionately diminished.
