Hi Lou,

Just to clarify, the Romani refugees we saw living in hotels were given the
rooms to live in by the Milosevic government.

Also, here is an interesting response to a question from an interview of a
Romani refugee from Kosovo at a refugee camp in Italy in 1999, not long
after he was driven from the province by the KLA. The interview was
conducted by Sani Rifati.

Q: It seems you're laying a lot of the blame on the Western world. What
does the Western World have to do with Milosevic's regime?

A: Milosevic! In spite of how bad and how evil the U.S. and other Western
countries are telling Milosevic is, I know one thing: under the Milosevic
regime, I, as a Rom, still had my school, my mother tongue, my TV, radio,
newspaper, job and a wonderful three-story house. All three of my children
went to school for free by the state. Look around you where I am now; this
is catastrophic. This is sickness. We're sleeping 15 people in one room, 3
meters by 4 meters. We eat once a day. Nobody even likes to look at us.
