Some people worry so much about whether Palestinians are committing so much
violence in the struggle for liberation that Israelis will be unable to
forgive them and live with them in peace in the one-state Palestine of the
future. And yet everyone expects the Palestinians to live with the Israelis
in peace and forgive the manifold greater violence and suffering inflicted
on them in the struggle to keep them in subjection. Are Jews supposed to be
that much more inclined to hold grudges? Do they have uniquely long
memories (or Palestinians uniquely short ones)? The Palestinians are
expected to live, not only with "those who organized" attacks on them, but
with the homicide bombers themselves (pilots, etc.).

In any case, upon the establishment of a single democratic state, won't
everyone have something much more immediate to worry about..... the question
(as in South Africa) of property?
