RES: Wallerstein - reply to Renato

Well, I think I have not been understood. What I do think is: 1) in a list
of marxism, nobody needs moral vituperations against capitalism, they are
already convinced capitalism is an evil thing; 2) Marx's views are
insufficient to draw conclusions about the end of capitalismo. From his
whole works, two views emerge: 1) that capitalism grows through crisis; 2)
that crisis can signal the end of capitalism. Lenin and others thought that
capitalism had no economic limits, but political limits; Luxemburg and
others thought that capitalism had economic limits. The discussion has not
advanced since then. Capitalism is alive and well, one cannot see its limits
from now, though it is in perhaps the greatest crisis in its history. The
overwhelming majority of people wants capitalism to go on.

Your curt comment is a bit general, and it is difficult to know what to make
of it.
