Of interest, parts 1 and 2
part 1: http://www.nsarchive.org/NSAEBB/NSAEBB99/index.htm -- documents
just released on the slayings of students in Mexico, 1968
part 2: From the FT hardcopy 101003:
"Defedtions his developing-nations group"
'The coalition of developing countries formed to challenge the US and the
European Union in the stalled Doha trade negotiations is facing a series of
defections that may undermines its ability to survive as a coherent force in
global talks.
Costa Rica, Colombia and Peru, all original member of the so-called Group of
21 have decided over the past week to leave the coalition....'
__________
Let's see-- Costa Rica, the relatively stable, well-to-do country of Central
America-- scene of US private investment in semiconductor fabrication;
Colombia--- that's a tough one, huh? Bet it was hard for the US to get them
to pull out;
And Peru-- where the government is barely holding on, bet that was another
hard sell....
