Jose, one could just as easily point out that a vote FOR the recall was
a real and sincere vote for the Republican power-grab, since the
chances of Peter's victory was virtually nil. (In fact, many of the
anti-recall socialists hold this very opinion.)
Such is the nature of bourgeois politics; it's a cesspool of scum and
villainy. And when socialists get too involved, nothing good comes of
it--one side accuses the other of reformism and being pro-Democrat, and
the other makes accusations of ultra-leftism, sectarianism, and being
pro-Republican. End result? Socialists fighting socialists, and zero
effect on the overall election.
