Re: Michael Moore and the hydrocarbon "die-off"
----- Original Message -----

if DMS is too distracted by the baseball playoffs to tell us what he really
thinks
---------------------------------------------------,
Oh Nick, you are such a card, a regular panic, witty, droll, and hip.
1. Baseball in NOT a distraction. Everything else is. Any Red Sox fans out
there? Too bad. Red Sox are the only team where the Heimlich Maneuver is
part of Spring training. Although I hear Oakland was playing the Red Sox
fight song during the ALDS. Smartest player in baseball? Derek Jeter.
Dumbest player in baseball? Miguel Tejada.
2. I have told everyone what I really think about oil (and other things)
several times. I have told it in detail, with supporting data, in large
blocks of text, on list, offlist, etc.
3. Michael Moore's comments added nothing new to the discussion. There was
not one item of analysis or concrete information that hasn't been
reproduced numerous times.
4. When capital develop's a futures market or an options trading program,
the old puts and calls, on heat death of the universe, I'll be glad to
consider energy return on investment. But capital doesn't do that. Capital
does not give a rat's ass about energy return on investment. Capital cares
about profit. Follow the cash, that's my answer. Entropy is not a social
relation of production and it does not determine the exchange between
capital and wage-labor. As much as we might or might not fear the end of
the oil age, capital has no such vision. It sees, feels, a decline in
profit. That's as good and as bad as it gets. And that's what determines
the necessity for the overthrow of capital.
Repeat after me, "The Yankees Win, THE YANKEES WIN!"
