Re: Burton vs. Britton
It seems that many on the Left don't want to come to grips with how
undemocratic BUYING a recall of an elected official right after his victory
really is. I doubt that this would be so incomprehensible to these same
people if we were talking about Presidente Chavez in Venezuela, though.
Believe it or not, but some dimwitted America voters really do get offended
when they find rich Republcians buying a new election. It seems like
that unlike the Leftists glued with a microscope to the California scene for
the longest time now, that they really don't believe that American elections
should be considered just a farce. They want to stop that process of
further degradation of US electorialism, not participate in it as the Green
Party gleefully just did.
Here's how innocent these innocents are. Instead of worrying how to
crack the 2-party system, they are actively worrying about the US becoming a
one-party system. Imagine that? How much more naive can people be?
Maybe as naive as to try to crack the 2-party bipartisan dictatorship by
trying to run nice 'independent' campaigns that are watered down into
milktoast? If we are nice, maybe we can get some nice people elected to
dogcatcher under The Empire. Before we can deal with anything else, we
gotta win some of these elections! Or at least get 5-10% of the vote.
Which election next for the Green Party to tackle? I hope they don't
wreck their possiblities by calling for, and building, street demonstrations
against US militarism.
