Re: Burton vs. Britton
Lou Paulsen's answer is pretty funny, but absolutely
wrong.
John C. Burton, the SEC candidate has a very close
name to John Burton, the Democratic Party main guy in
the State Assembly, co-owner of the Northern
California Democratic Party machine (the other owners
is Mayor Willie Brown.)
John Burton, the Democrat, is fairly popular in the
State and very popular in some areas. He is liberal
and the highest member of one of the most powerful and
popular Democratic machine's families (Are you
familiar with Congressman Sala Burton and other
Burtons who left a long tradition as powerhouses in
the Democratic party?)
John C. Burton, the SEC candidate, got some votes from
people distracted from the news. In fact, the
Democrat John Burton, in a press conference, was
forced to deny he was the one on the ballot.
Otherwise, John C. Burton, the SEC candidate, would
have gotten less than 100 votes statewide (of course
few less than Britton and CT Weber).
