Re: Short response to Armand [more]

To amplify: Armand, I suppose you think that because you say "Vote for the
recall!" and then add "Make Camejo the governor!" (which isn't going to
happen), it saves you from anyone ever saying you are in a bloc with the
Republicans. Well, suppose Eli or someone puts out a leaflet saying "Vote
against the recall!" and adding "Overthrow Davis by armed workers'
struggle!" (which is no more likely then Camejo being elected governor).
Would you then absolve him of being in a bloc with the Democrats? Hmm? If
you complain that "this fantasy demand is just a fig leaf for his reformist
capitulation to the Democrats" (see, I could write sectarian prose too if I
felt like it), then why can't someone come back and say similar things about
you and the Republicans?

The bottom line is that the Democrats want you to vote 'no' on the recall,
and the Republicans want you to vote 'yes' on the recall, and they are the
only two real players in the game, which is a stupid game for dividing and
confusing the workers. To quote the computer in the movie "War Games", "A
strange game. The only winning move is not to play." At least, we
shouldn't get so caught up in it that we start beating each other up and
slandering each other. I don't criticize Eli for voting 'no', I understand
his position, and I don't criticize Camejo for urging a 'yes' vote, I
understand HIS position, but I DO feel like criticizing YOU, Armand, for
trying to make this stupid bourgeois circus an occasion for picking fights
among the socialist left.
