Strange, I think your position is highly subjective. I don't know if there
was an "opportunity," but I'm sure there was the necessity. If there ever
was a condition that fit Marx's analysis of the conflict between the means
and the relations of production, Poland was it.

The economy was grinding to a halt, living standards falling, as the
bureaucracy attempted to service its international debt, the working class
was in motion with strikes and seizures of workplaces...and the result was a
victory for counterrevolution. I don't then see how the necessity for
revolution, precipitated by the same material circumstances can fail to
present itself.
