Finally, something is offered that makes me want to rethink some of the
points made in the little piece on imperialism-- and what is it? Is it
extraction and bribery? No, it's brother Melvin's location of privilege in
the historical development of capitalism, its sort of internal unevenness,
its carrying forward not just as a vestige, but as a legacy, the entire
distinct historical evolutions of different sectors of the working class.
And that IS part and parcel of the original and enduring method of
accumulation, not a change brought upon us by the creation of trusts, the
convergence of industrial and banking capital.
And as it, the privilege, the disparity in historical and current
circumstances, is rooted in the social relations of production, it is
reproduced TO THE BREAKING POINT. And Melvin is arguing that the breaking
point is here. And now.
