Re: The Natasha Trade
If your time is scarce, Vollmann is not the best
author to read - in fact, most North American
novelists have been like that ever since Pynchon,
producing huge works that nobody reads unless (like
the authors) they've got nothing to do and can loll
around on feather-beds for months at a time. But many
of Vollmann's texts would interest you due to their
content, which is a kind of geopolitical
brothel-creeping, and thankfully these are among his
shorter novels or short-story collections. He also
has a rather epic series of novels relating the
colonisation of North America; dunno if these are any
good.
