And indeed there were workers' actions, and are workers' actions in the fSU,
CIS, opposing privatization, etc.-- but that is not a defense of Stalinist
regime.

In China today debates about privatization and struggles against
privatization are raging throughout party and society-- but the preliminary
manifestation of the resistance to privatization, which may emerge as
glorification of Maoism, will develop beyond that nostalgia and of necessity
become more than a defense of what once was--- or it will collapse.


We shouldn't be conflating a class struggle against bureaucracy-assisted
capitalism with defense of  the collapsing  bureaucracy, no more than we
should do what the Spartacists did in the 1980s when they identified the
workers movement in Poland as a movement for capitalist restoration.
