At the time, it was explained to me (and other non-IST members)
that LT was *not* the official section of the IST in the U.S.

LT continues to maintain that they were never officially
part of the IST, never voted to join it after leaving the
ISO, etc.

Who knows?  All I know is that making a clean, public break
with the IST is a positive development to be welcomed.
