There is a book called "The New Intifada" edited by The Nation's Roane
Carey. In it is an essay concerning the demographics and practical
realities of implementing the Palestinian Right of Return. It is not
true that such an effort would involve some sort of mass upheaval of
Jews according to the presented data.
This issue is more useful on the ideological and polemical plane than
that of concrete reaility. The Palestinian struggle at this stage is
bound up with far more finite and implosive realities, including civil
war, resisting slow-motion ethnic cleansing and extermination as a
politically conscious force.
In truth, what Lerner says or does, whether he pisses through his mouth
or shits out of his ears, should be of zero consequence to the
pro-Palestinian movement. This movement, insofar as it is worthy of its
name, will not consist of what Brenner rightly called "ranting rabbis",
chasing demons with their egos tagging not too far belong. Lerner has
made his totally Zionist and racist position clear with all kinds of
absurd and meaningless rhetoric, lifted up by nothing but moral
vagueries to the effect that anything he opposes politically is a new
Kristillnacht.
Lenner, castrated coward that he is, cowers in fear of "extremism". Not
the extremism of missiles, bombs, settlers, bulldozers, or snipers, mind
you: he is too brave for that. His main worry in the world is the
"extremism" of pro-Palestinian groups in the USA.
I am looking here at a news item I printed out about the Rutgers
debacle. A bunch of Zionists clamor over the following section of the
pro-Palestinian group: "We declare the right of Palestinians to resist
oppression by any means necessary". Their conclusion? Advocacy of "mass
murder".
I think I will hang it on my wall.
All Zionist logic operates in this fashion in varying degrees.
