What we have here is a bit more than a failure to communicate.

1. Post's article does not claim to be an article examining the causes of
the Civil War. Are you sure you read the article in the issue of "....
Agrarian Change"?

2. Post's article does not examine the conduct of the Union Army during or
after the Civil War.  Are you sure you read the article in the issue of
".... Agrarian Change"?

3. You said you were concerned with postbellum relations and that no time
during that postbellum did African Americans participate in a free market
for wage labor.  But some did, because some were able to leave, migrate, as
opposed to runaway in the slave period, to the West, to cities and to the
North.  This was not possible during the slave period. It was made possible
by the North victory in the Civil War.

4.Are you sure you read the article in the issue of ".... Agrarian Change"?
