Forwarded from Michael Yates (Dos Passos)
There is an article in today's New York Times about the renewal of
interest in the works of the U.S. writer John Dos Passos. His trilogy
"USA," consisting of the novels, "1919," "The 42nd Parallel," and "The Big
Money" are to me among the very greatest novels ever written in the United
States. They have been out of print for a long time, but now a new edition
of his works is being done. Members of the list unfamiliar with dos
Passos might want to look at these and other novels. Great radical
writing. Sadly, the author late in life moved to the right, but these
works are remarkable.
