Thank you for this tip, Chris! My Great-Grandfather, Randulf Dalland, fought in
the Thälmann battalion, and was in a Franco concentration camp. Being an
elected councillor back home in Norway, he survived three death sentences, and
was eventually bought free by the Norwegian government for an undisclosed
amount of dried cod... Then the Brits arrested him in Gibraltar, before he
joined the Norwegian army in exile in Scotland. After the WWII he became an MP
for the CP of Norway. Sadly, his stry is not told to its fullest in any book.
