In reply to a CPer's (new member, I take it) query about the party's
electoral policy, I posted a mostly positive characterization of the party
but demurred on their orientation to the Democrats. This led Melvin to
lambaste me as a fucking Trotskyite (news to people on
alt.politics.socialism.trotsky, to be sure) and to remove himself from the
list. He was involved with a variety of groups including the Communist
Labor Party, I believe. He is strongly influenced by Nelson Peery, a
revolutionary black worker who I actually thought Melvin was for a time.
