 Meant no disrespect. I've read Mark's stuff in other journals, and respect
his research and ability to set down on paper his ideas. He's probably the
only 'Stalin defender' that ever appeared in the pages of Revolutionary
History, for example (on a series of essays on Jan Valtin's "Out of the
Night", memoirs of a Comintern agent).

My only regret was his not being able to take up his sincere invitation for
a private correspondence on the Spanish Revolution.
