-- Galloway issues writs
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/3027016.stm
"George Galloway has issued libel proceedings against a newspaper over
claims he accepted money from Saddam Hussein."
--
there's also a piece in the current edition of the UK magazine "Private
Eye" about the kind of evidence on sale in Iraq:
"Suspicions were raised after Philip Smucker, the reporter [from whom
Christian Science Monitor took their evidence and] who had acquired the
documents from Iraqi general Salah Abdel Rasool, admitted that he had
handed over $800 for them and given Rasool 24 hours to come up with the
goods. A more sceptical Baghbad-based colleague, Irene Prusher, was sent
round to visit the general, and was promptly offered a number of other
scoops, including conclusive proof that the 11 September hijackers
learned to fly in Iraq.
