Re: Art
"Art" is too complicated a subject to make such blanket generalizations.
There is art and there is Art.
For example, Fine Art for the elite.
What is that?
I asked a group recently where in their casita they would hang Monet's
Water Lillies.
You know, the famous one at the MOMA that has one large room devoted to
its exhibition. Where would they place Rodin's Thinker, great fakking
ton of bronze.
There is art that is not Western, folk art, pop art, commercial art.
Western Fine Art is a finished narrative, actually.
A string of fancy commodities for the luxury class.
Still, as some one said about Buffy (for whom I share no attraction),
I can't help being fascinated by that great colourful pile of
emotionalist spew.
