(posted to pen-l by Michael Perelman)
Sasha Lilly produces a radio show on KPFA (Berkeley, Pacifica). She is
also on pen-l. Here is some information about some recent programs.
This is an invitation to PEN-L members to listen to a debate on KPFA
Radio's Living Room between John Bellamy Foster and Leo Panitch, on
whether the classical Marxist theories of imperialism are still valid
today. The debate is archived on our website, livingroomradio.org. You
can also find on our website an interview with Robert Brenner on the
state of the US economy, Vijay Prashad on "the Enron stage of
capitalism", Max Elbaum on Third World Marxism, and much more.
Next week we will be re-airing the Free Radicals Series (permanently
archived at freeradicalsradio.org) that C.S. Soong and I co-produced
last November, starting with a program that challenges Left conventional
wisdom about globalization, with guests Doug Henwood and Leo Panitch.
That program will be followed on Tuesday by a show on the life and
thought of Walter Benjamin and, on Wednesday, by a program on rural
class struggle and the peasantry with guests Tom Brass and Haripriya
Rangan. You can listen to the programs live, from 12-1pm PST, at
kpfa.org (or in the San Francisco Bay Area at 94.1 FM) or after the fact
at livingroomradio.org.
