Speakers:
Rosalie Bertell, PhD, G.N.S.H is a noted epidemiologist and biometrist,
known internationally for her work in environmental health. Her most recent
book is "Planet Earth: The Latest Weapon of War".
Michel Chossudovsky, Professor of Economics at the University of Ottawa and
Director of the Centre for Research on Globalization, is a prominent author
and lecturer on the subject of war, globalization and the causes of Third
World Poverty.
Sara Flounders, co-director and founder of the International Action Center,
coordinated the 1992 International U.S. War Crimes Tribunal on the Persian
Gulf. She is a contributing author to "Metal of Dishonor: Depleted
Uranium." (1996)
Scott Taylor is editor and publisher of "Esprit de Corps" - a magazine
known for its unflinching scrutiny of the Canadian military. He has
published several books, including "Diary of an Uncivil War" and was the
recipient of the Quill Award in 1996.
Karen Talbot, Director of the International Center for Peace and Justice,
served as an NGO representative to the United Nations for many years. She
was the recipient of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Award in 1994.
Francisco Rico-Martinez, a former law professor at the National University
of El Salvador, is a writer, political analyst and human rights
investigator now serving as co-director of the FCJ Hamilton Refugee Project
in Toronto.
Chris Maser is a research scientist and author of twenty books dealing with
environmental
sustainability and a a consultant on forest ecology. His most recent book
is "The Perpetual Consequences of Fear and Violence."
Barbra Nimir Aziz is a social anthropologist and journalist who has carried
out her research in
many countries, most recently Nepal and Tibet . She has published three
books documenting her studies and since 1989 has devoted her attention to
the Middle East. She is a radio producer and hosts a weekly program on
Pacifica-WBAL in New York.
John Valleau is Professor Emeritus of Chemistry at the University of
Toronto and an active member of Science for Peace. Among his publications
are "Space Weapons and World Empire" and "Nuclear Nightmare."
