Cockcroft-Chomsky exchange

I just received a note on the Science for the People mailing list as follows:

---
Dear friends,
here is the text of exchanges between Jim Cockroft and Noam Chomsky about
the various statements circulating about the "75 cuban 'dissidents'" and
the reality facing Cuba today.
I find it fundamentally informative. It led me to sign the statement:
"To the conscience of the World". You may want to do the same.
Thanks, Maurice (Bazin)

Although Chomsky's name is undoubtedly known to most, Maurice Bazin and
James Cockcroft are important figures in their own right. Maurice is a
scientist working to investigate the potential of indigenous science in the
Amazon, as well as to teach indigenous peoples about the appropriate use of
Western technology and science, a project in the spirit of Tecnica, a
volunteer project in Nicaragua I was involved with in the late 1980s. (One
of the volunteers was Avi Chomsky.) James Cockcroft is a scholar
specializing in Mexico. His latest book "Mexico's Hope" is available from
MR press. Since the documents referred to in Maurice's email were quite
lengthy, I am making them available on Marxmail in the interest of allowing
the broader left community to get a much needed perspective on the current
controversy in Cuba.
