Yes there is, as I'm sure Lou will agree: the people of the world, a
point made by one of the speakers at the London peace march yesterday:
they are the true superpower against which nothing can prevail if they
act together.

The key themes of the speeches as I registered them: the gravest threat
of nuclear catastrophe to date; occupation, conquest, plunder; morally
plain wrong (no relativism here!); war criminals, murderers - bring them
to justice. A leading human rights lawyer said that only three lawyers
in the whole of the UK thought it was a legal war: the Attorey General,
the adviser to the Attorney General, and Mrs Blair. Proceedings have
been started to indict Blair, Straw and Hoon as war crimals in the
International Criminal Court (Britain, unlike the US, is a signatory).
