For Mark Jones

I too loved Mark Jones. He was such a great soul, dedicated and learned
Communist, fighter for humanity and the working classes. I called him Marx
Jones ! For the feeling I got from his great mind, heart and spirit, his
humor,  was something like what I imagine it would be like to have Karl Marx
on our lists.

 I am very saddened by his death . I will miss him very much. I learned
importantly from him especially about the history and nature of the Soviet
Union, the threat of depletion of fossil fuels, and economics in general ;
and I , like others, was the recipient of his brotherly personal counsel,
even as he fought the ultimate personal struggle himself. I always felt we
had mutual, comradely respect. We had fun together too, even in the midst of
this great period of crisis for our movement.

 I am so glad with the many things people have said here in his honor and
memory, and for our resolve to carry forward his energy and wisdom in the
struggle to which he dedicated his life.
