Vietnam has been mentioned more than once in recent days. I just point
out the obvious:
South Vietnam was bordered by North Vietnam, connected by jungle
There is no North Iraq, and the space between Iraqi cities and any
place that might be "friendly", whether it's the mountains of Iraq,
Syria, or wherever, is desert.
Parallels with the West Bank and Gaza are certainly worth drawing.
Parallels with Vietnam are, it seems to me, not.
