RE: [R-G] Arabic news unobtainable this evening; some found...

sipila@xxxxxxxxxxxx 05 April 2003 20:11(BST) quotes from al-jazeera

Thanks for that - I can get al.jazeera, but "arabic news" e-mail gives some
info about the Red Cross and Red-Crescent in dispute with the USA/UKL forces
and the info that the King of Jordan has :

Jordanian King: Military operations against Iraq is an invasion, the Iraqis
are martyrs
The Jordanian king has described the American- British against Iraq and for
the first time as an "invasion" disclosing that his country has rejected a
request to open its air space for the military jets of the coalition.
Jordan, Politics

but the URLs for detail fail - so I am wondering if there is a US/UK attack
on <arabic.news> similar to the previous one of al-jazeera.

All news from Iraq is presently suspect, though it seems to me that the
Iraqi leadership has learnt that in dealing with overpowering aggressors it
is necessary to avoid pitched battles except in favourable terrain - which
means in the cities. Let the Yanks have as much of the desert as they
wish!!!! - and let them claim what they like - claims don't win a war - to
win the Yanks need to have the Iraqi people on their side - and they have
already lost THAT possibility for good and all. (And by the by, they let
the Brits take on the difficult, and thankless job, of trying to subdue the
cities, in case some US soldiers might be killed..... - but they are only
expendable merceneries, after all !!).

The USA/UK governments may have most of the US/UK media on their side - but
that's all they've got - and the admiration of the world is going out to the
Iraqi people in their struggle - and in country after country the role of
so-called "democratic" governments is being exposed.

Where are the governments carrying out their people's wishes? Cuba -
anywhere else?
