response to bennis?
Jose,
Has anyone written a thorough critique of Bennis' piece? I notice that UfPJ
is circulating these capitulationist articles on its mailing list, without
any counterveiling positions being circulated. Are they making a play for
democratic party approval, respectability? The earlier writing they
circulated on police misconduct was congruent with the opinion of most
democrats who testified at the NYC Council hearing in February, i.e., the
"few/many bad/good apples" argument.

Who is this "Phyllis Bennis" that signed this document?
It seems to me this is a miserable *capitulation* based on small-change
rules about strictly *decorative* elements accompanying the imperialist
occupation. Our demand is and should continue to be immediate, unconditional
withdrawal of the anglo-american occupation army.
Troops Out Now!
José
P.S. It is especially galling to see the call for the imperialist's United
Nations, after having unmasked itself as completely *impotent* against
aggression, being proposed now as jailkeepers for the Iraqi Nation.
