Re: Mother Jones on SF's Anti-War "Radicals"

If I participate in a march against the war in Iraq, as I've done several
times,
why am I surrounded by signs supporting Mumia Abu-Jamal

I am SO tired of this crap, whether it comes from Mother Jones or Justin
Raimondo or anyone else. I support Mumia, and I have no problem with anyone
carrying a sign at an antiwar demo calling for his freedom. I ESPECIALLY
have no problem if someone were to read or play a speech by Mumia at the
rally, since in my opinion he's one of the most articulate writers on the
left, and his writings on the war (and dozens of other subjects) would make
for one of the best speeches at any rally I've attended (WAY better than
listening to Martin Sheen preaching, just to name one).

HOWEVER, the plain fact of the matter is that, out of the tens of thousands
of signs at recent demos, some printed (ANSWER, NION, Greens), the vast
majority homemade, you could count the number of signs mentioning Mumia on
the fingers of one hand with some fingers left over. The idea that anyone
could be "surrounded by signs supporting Mumia" is just plain factually
wrong, and, as such, betrays rather clearly the bias of the writer.
