Re: The Language of US Workers Re: Antiwar Effort...
anyone who's driven over the Triboro Bridge between the Bronx and Queens lately
might have been subjected to a particularly disturbing spectacle...
the entire middle section of the span of the bridge is blocked off from traffic
with some sort of construction or repairs going on. throughout this section,
there are about 20 american flags and about 15 pow-mia flags mounted on tall
poles, and about a dozen or so vinyl banners hung up saying things like "you
are not forgotten" and "our union supports the troops," etc.
for some reason, seeing something like this really pisses you off a lot more
than seeing some asshole on wall street with a suit and briefcase supporting
the war.
