RE: Was the "terrorist" who atacked 101st Airborne a U.S. soldier ?

Whilst the idea of struggling for valour and integrity et al is appealing in
some strange sense, the phrase "by any means necessary" keeps hitting me.
Surely any knock imperialism suffers is worth cheering? Whether by design or
accident.

Response (Jim C): While coming down from Canada, the first report was only
that this person was a Muslim American, followed by the usual not all... And
that this probably would not cause distrust of other Muslims in the US
military. They suggested, but didn't openly state, that he might have been
an inside plant or that he may have spontaneously "gone over."

This was followed by another report saying that he was an engineer who had
been given a letter of reprimand as a result of which he was denied being
able to go to "the front" which is where he wanted to be. The suggestion was
that this war is likely to be relatively short and that the letter
ofreprimand, plus not being at "the front" would likely be a career killer.
This, they suggested was the basis of fragging his superior officer along
with others.

Who knows eh?
