Re: Trotsky
[ quoted text snipped ]
In hindsight perhaps Trotsky's optimism about nuclear energy was flawed.
Aside from weapons development, using nuclear power creates massive
amounts of waste that we still haven't figured out exactly what to do
with. It will last for centuries upon centuries, and right now the big
debate is how to develop a symbolic language for future generations
(after english is no longer spoken) to tell them that the sites are
toxic. Stalin made the same errors in optimism regarding nuclear energy.
Being at the forefront of science is where Marxist-Leninists belong, but
there are some fronts that should just be opposed.
