An image to reproduce: "THE SPIRIT OF STROM THURMOND"
http://www.af.mil/news/Dec2002/121202250.shtml
Here is a picture which deserves to be put on posters and plastered up
around every military recruiting station in the oppressed community.
It depicts a ceremony at which the 100th C-17 Globemaster III heavy
equipment transport off the assembly line is being given a name which
appropriately reflects the role of U.S. military and the nature of the
impending war: "THE SPIRIT OF STROM THURMOND."
This ceremony took place one week after Strom's 100th birthday, which is to
say, 4 days after Trent Lott's nostalgic longing for the triumph of
segregation in 1948 was widely publicized.
However, the U.S. military know who their friends and exemplars are. Air
Force Chief of Staff Gen. John P. Jumper declared: "It's a great honor that
both the name and the spirit of a great American resides with this
airplane."
