I am aware of that resistance to conscription in Ireland. Clearly, it is
part and parcel of the overall resistance to British imperialism and
military occupation and can and should be supported without reservation.
However, the situation in US is closer to the situation in England as
opposed to Ireland, where reliance on a volunteer professional army
facilitates capital's repression of a civilian population.
