All throughout Latin America, liberation theology has played a
prominent role, Venezuela included. One of the local seminary students
(Presbyterian, and *very* influenced by LT) was telling me last week
that the Church hierarchy has tried to combat this by yanking budding
priests out of the area and sending them to another part of the world
to receive their "training." (read: indoctrination)
