The intellectual right in the US is largely staffed by disilllusioned
leftists. The right itself never managed to produced any intellectuals
who could attack the left convincingly. Mark Jones is absolutely
correct that Stalin saved the world from fascism. The discussion here
is not so much on Mandel whose tragic shift to the right is of no
consequence, but on disillusioned leftists' defeatist attacks on the
left. Intersting that the most effective attacks on capitalism now come
from the far right.
