You can read it so many ways.
You make your meaning, despite what you suspect are the intentions of
the author (and who might that be in a motion picture?), whether the
author knows those intentions or motivations, or even a few.
There is a general agreement about the effect of an E chord, or a major
versus a minor in music. General feelings emerge from films, too. As a
propagandist you should be able to direct them positively.
The tragedy of the Irish failing to recognize themselves in their Black
brethren? Yet still both building America? The salvation inherent to
class solidarity?
etc.
